After a demanding few months of nonstop cricket, Rohit was in London spending time with his family when he joined the meeting held in New Delhi via a zoom call. He reportedly asked the selectors and top BCCI officials if they wanted him to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies. According to Dainik Jagran, an official in attendance recounted the discussion between Rohit and the others.

If the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee and the present officials saw him playing in the T20 World Cup, Rohit questioned them about it. “Tell me now how to go about it if you want to select me for the T20 World Cup,” Rohit reportedly said in the meeting, according to the official, as stated in the Hindi daily.
It is said that all of the selectors, coach Dravid, and the officials in attendance concurred that Rohit is the best player to spearhead the team’s attack in the T20 World Cup.
