Wife of Gujarat Police Officer Found Hanging at Ahmedabad Home
There was no suicide note discovered there, and the Bodakdev police station opened an accidental death case.
Ahmedabad: According to an official statement on Friday, the wife of an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from Gujarat cadre allegedly hanged herself to death at their Ahmedabad city home. Assistant Commissioner of Police S M Patel said that the 47-year-old wife of IPS officer R T Susara, Shaluben, was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan of a room at their Thaltej home this morning.
During the investigation, he said, the police discovered that she had hanged herself late on Thursday night after arriving back in Ahmedabad from Surat.
There was no suicide note discovered there, and the Bodakdev police station opened an accidental death case. According to Patel, her body was taken to Sola Civil Hospital for a post-mortem.
Susara, an IPS officer from the 2011 batch who was promoted, is the Superintendent of Police for the Marine Task Force at Hazira, Surat, at the moment.
“Susara and his spouse spent the past few days in Surat for a wedding. Susara arrived in Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon while on leave, while Shaluben returned from Surat late at night while he was already asleep, according to Patel.
“When Susara awoke in the morning, he discovered that his wife’s body was suspended from the ceiling in a different room on their ground floor. He told the local police to come over right away.
The ACP continued, “Shuluben took her own life late at night for undisclosed reasons, according to the police’s preliminary investigation.”
