A 38-year-old man died in Maharashtra’s Pune city after his wife allegedly punched him in the face as she was angry at him for not taking her to Dubai to celebrate her birthday, police said. Police said. He said that the incident took place in Wanwadi area on Friday afternoon.

According to the police, the deceased Nikhil Khanna was a real estate developer. “During investigation it was revealed that the birthday of the man’s 36-year-old wife Renuka was on September 18. She wanted to celebrate it in Dubai, but her husband did not fulfill her demand,” a Wanwadi official said. The police officer said.

“Besides, the couple also had a wedding anniversary on November 5 and she was expecting some nice gift from her husband. The woman was also upset because she wanted to go to Delhi for her relative’s birthday, but her husband No favorable response was received,” she said.

There was a heated argument between the couple on Friday regarding these issues. The officer said that out of anger the woman hit her husband on the nose, due to which he started bleeding profusely and he became unconscious.

After being informed by neighbours, a police team reached the spot and took the victim to Sassoon General Hospital, where he was declared brought dead, he said.

The police officer said that it is being investigated whether the woman hit her husband only with her fist or with some object, the exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem.

“We have taken the woman into custody and further investigation into the matter is underway,” he said. A case was registered against him under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 302 (murder).
