Nissan Ariya EV
Nissan Motors is testing its new Ariya electric model in India, as seen in recent spy images. Showcased globally in July 2020, the electric SUV competes internationally with cars like the EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5 available in the Indian market. There are high expectations from Nissan Motors to introduce the next generation Ariya Electric in India.

Nissan Ariya EV Spy
In the leaked spy images, the fully camouflaged vehicle reveals little about its design, it is expected to be based on Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi’s CMF electric architecture. Sporting a distinctive coupe design with the brand’s logo prominently displayed, the electric SUV will have 19 or 20-inch wheels. More details about its design are eagerly awaited.
Nissan Ariya EV Features
Internally, the cabin features a clean design with a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing physical buttons with a touch panel. Premium leather seats and various technologies including triple-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless charging and USB sockets are expected.
Nissan Ariya EV Safety
Equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and realistic cross-traffic alert, promising better road safety.
Nissan Ariya EV Battery and Range
The Ariya Electric offers two battery options, available in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive configurations. The 63 kWh battery variant offers 217 bhp and a claimed range of 402 km, while the larger 87 kWh option offers 242 bhp and an extended range of 529 km. The top model, which has an 87 kWh battery, produces 306 bhp, 600 Nm of torque and claims a range of 513 km.
Nissan Ariya EV Launch in India
While Nissan Motors has not officially confirmed the Indian launch date, speculations are that it could be by 2025. Nissan Motors has revealed plans to make a significant investment of Rs 5,300 crore in the Indian market in collaboration with Renault.
Nissan Ariya EV Price in India
Expected to compete with the likes of Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 in the Indian market, the Nissan Ariya Electric is expected to offer an attractive package with its range and features.
